The Lost Boys(1987) is a movie I was never that fond of when it first came out. The constant one liners from Corey Haim(Sam) and Corey Feldman(Edgar) were enough to slay the film even before the crosses and garlic came out.
Jason Patric(Micheal)plays the older brother to Sam and from the start we know he doesn't feel quite like he fits in, they have moved in with their grandfather(Barnard Hughes) who stuffs dead animals as his pastime and reads TV Guide even though he doesn't have TV.
Micheal dying to fit into this town that their mother Lucy (Dianne Weist)dragged them too, finds a local band of kids who seem just his type as they also do not fit in. First night out he witnesses them getting kicked off the local boardwalk by the local security.
He eventually joins the group unbeknownst to him and starts his first night home after flying around his room, Sam gets some help from Edgar and Alan Frog(Jamison Newlander)they run the local comic shop which they use as a cover for their vampire hunting business.
I was disappointed in the fact that the scenes where there was some killing music playing in the background and everything was cut fast like a music video.
These are some of the problems I had with the film back when it first came out and I have said since day 1 that Near Dark starring Bill Paxton, Lance Henrikson, Jeanette Goldstein, and Adrian Pasdar was a far better film on so many levels and was directed by a better director that in Kathryn Bigelow who would later direct Point Break and The Hurt Locker
In closing I enjoyed watching the Lost Boys from Disney's Peter Pan far more than watching this film
