The story is started with back in the days  of horse drawn sleighs Santa and Mrs Claus deliver the toys to the children of their community. David Huddleson plays the big elf and is charming and sincere in his role.




                


Patch(Dudley Moore)is relieved of his duties as Santa's top toy maker when all the toys made break. He goes to New York City and meets B.Z.(John Lithgow)the owner of a toy company that has about the same success rate as Patch

Patch uses the feed that the reindeer are fed with to create a lollipop that enables all that eat it are able to fly, but gets scary when the lollipops explode when exposed to high heat.

Santa enables the help of his new trusty friend Joe(Christian Fitzpatrick)a homeless 10 year old boy
