#1-Charlie Brown Christmas
Why Charlie Brown? Well, for me, I can relate to a lot of it, and also Charles Schulz was ahead of his time for the Commercialism of it all.
Charlie Brown is depressed, but has to pay Lucy 5 cents before she will help him. She tells him he needs involvement, so she suggests he direct the Christmas play.
The play is a failure; he cannot get anyone to cooperate, and they all want to dance. He and Linus are sent to get the Christmas Tree.
When they return, they are laughed at, and Charlie Brown says
"All that it needs is a little love." It then wilts, and needles fall off of it.
Linus progresses to tell him what the true meaning of Christmas is.
Therein lies the reason that this is my favorite Christmas Special or movie, not because of the religion either, but because it is just clearly innocent, and that is something that is truly lacking in today's world.
I hope you have enjoyed this Countdown to Christmas as much as I have enjoyed doing this.
