EP Review: Galactic Pegasus--Mirages(2012)

                                       Available Now:

                                Released September , 2012

This band from the Vancouver BC area is a force to be reckoned with as far as extreme metal with over 6,000 likes on their Facebook page alone. That being said they really have a sound all their own with their inspirations being Born Of Osiris, Veil of Maya, After the Burial, The Human Abstract, Periphery, Whitechapel, Volumes, Tesseract, & lots more.

The title song is so full of energy and great musical prowness, this is an incredible song all on it's own, most of the reason this album got such a high rating.

The guitars and bass, drums and yes even the screaming vocals all blend together so well and are well mixed and presents this band with all the force that any metal band would be happy about.

(From their Facebook Bio)

Hailing from BC, Canada GALACTIC PEGASUS started out as the solo project of Andrew Baena in 2011. Since then the band has built a built a loyal following via Youtube videos such as the tongue-in-cheek ‘How To Get Signed To Rise Records’ (viewed an impressive 430,000 times and counting!), covers of mainstream artists like SKRILLE

X, and original tracks.

It’s been a busy second half of 2012 for GALACTIC PEGASUS. In September the band released a debut EP ‘Mirages’ boasting five tracks of brutal bass drops and djent groove hooks. The line-up is now six members strong, has been playing live shows, just released a music video for the ‘Smashing’, and writing is underway for a debut album.

Andrew told me through a message:

We self-recorded the whole EP, and sent it for mixing and mastering at Vision Studios.
