Without getting into all the drama that currently is Queenryche/Queenryche having two bands with the same name at this current moment is not relevant for me the argument rests on the merit of the music. The constant comparing of this album to previous albums by this band is not something I will do as well-for me each album is a different period in the bands/each members personal life's -their music reflects what is happening in their lives or the lives around them.
For me this album is strong and has some really good guitar licks and the rest of the band is tight as well. "Redemtion" has all that and some great drumming.

In
2012, the band welcomed a new vocalist for the first time since
founding in 1981 back when guitarist Michael Wilton and drummer Scott
Rockenfield were just high school buddies. Joining Wilton,
Rockenfield, original bassist Eddie Jackson, and guitarist Parker
Lundgren, vocalist and multi
instrumentalist Todd LaTorre entered the
fold and immediately galvanized the veteran group.
While
attending the annual NAMM Convention in Anaheim, Wilton
serendipitously met LaTorre and exchanged email addresses. It might
seem random or convenient, but nothing in the Queensrÿche
universe is.
"Vindication" for me is probably the best song on the album, I like it all but this is the strongest I feel. There are sometimes that I feel some of this album is an extension of "Empire" musically anyways and that is the only comparison this reviewer will make.
