Over the years, even over the decades there have been some great political movies, this is not one of those. This isn't even a good film at all quite easily one of the messiest movies I have seen in sometime now.
The story is not really based on anything particular as it does not relate to any actual real corporations what we have here is all fictional and that is fine if it works.
From the word go it is very confusing to understand what it is all about and then just gets contrived and dumb after a while.
Here is our storyline:
An operative for an elite private intelligence firm finds her priorities changing dramatically after she is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations.
So as it is Sarah(Brit Marling-The Company You Keep))is undercover and comes into contact with Doc(Toby Kebbell-Wrath of the Titans)who looks like a younger Johnny Depp(somewhat)
She finds that he is in fact a Fed and when he is looking through trash cans for something for them to eat, she then for no reason that is explained to the audience gets a pop can breaks it in half and cuts herself with it.
There are other really pointless scenes like where there are drugging corporate executive's with their own "poison" and then Sarah runs around the area(unseen by the others)and starts taking the drinks away from people, this just does not feel real. You want people to believe your story then make the story believable.
One of the best films is "The Company you Keep" that also was fictional but was presented much better and far more believable.
