MTI Home Video Review: Ferocious(Released October 1, 2013)

Leigh Parrish(Amanda Crew)a successful actress on a trip home to visit her small town roots. While
dodging the careful eye of her manager (Dustin Milligan), Leigh, steps
out from the lights and cameras and into the shadows of her old life,
confronting her unsavory past and ex-employer, Maurice (Kim Coates).

What happens through this entire film I thought I knew all the answers to and that is quite easily my biggest mistake. The story is quite simply told but what is hiding in the shadows is the truth and that truth is very dark and mysterious.

This is a truly well done film for all the right reasons there are very few films that has me thinking one way and then all of a sudden the film takes a HUGE left turn that only leaves you going wow(in a good way)

Kim Coates(Sons of Anarchy)plays Maurice/Sal also was associate producer of the film. I have always felt that Kim has  been underrated for his work.

Born in Saskatoon Kim tells Fiona Forbes of Vancouver's RUSH(Television show)that he slept in his bed while filming the movie in Saskatoon he slept in the same bed as when he was a teen at his mothers home, not in a motel.
(see video below)

The story is one of the local clubs is re-opening and they are hiring new girls for the club and Leigh(Amanda Crew-Final Destination 3)she has some unfinished business with them from years past and is there to finalize things, not a good business deal has happened.

The thing that worked the most for me was the intimacy of the setting of the film. If you have seen films like "Albino Alligator" where a bar gets robbed then you know what I speak of.

There are such strong characters in this film and all the actors are great in their roles the editing is tight to help tell this story as well.

Thank you for reading this

Sincerely

Anthony Nadeau
