In one of the more calming and enlightening albums this year Messenger really is one riding on a different horse all together in this vast amount of music crammed into just seven songs, the incredible talent in the just the first "The Return" where at 4:20 the singing becomes more intense and the singer seems to sing from the spirit of Jim Morrision(The Doors)
Having a total unique sound nowadays and the harmonies of music & vocals are a nice change, almost worthy of harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel especially in the piece "Piscean Tide" , there is just some great music here on this album.
This year has been an incredible year this far music wise for me we are nearing the end of March and already have heard some incredible music this never grows old for me. I will always listen to new music like it is the first time I have heard music, just some of my tastes never make it on here.

MESSENGER (UK) is a musical troupe from London formed in the spring of 2012 by Khaled Lowe and Barnaby Maddick. They booked a session with producer/drummer Jaime Gomez Arellano at Orgone Studios that gave birth to their debut album, Illusory Blues: a cosmic ode to the forces of nature and the inevitable cycle of life. Tonally, they dwell equally in the earthly realm of folk music and in the celestial void of progressive psychedelia. Rounded off by Daniel Knight and James Leach, the lineup of MESSENGER is now complete.
For me the build up the songs and the great singing and songwriting is a joy to marvel in.
This is a fantastic debut that I am hoping to hear more of and have already been playing their album a good number of times.
"Midnight" starts at an off tempo beat then quickly adjusts back and forth from a standard beat, then speeds up somewhat-this is a talented group I applaud them.
