In what is easily the quietest war film on record even in battle this quiet little film could easily get overlooked as this is not your typical war film-this is more of a look at what affects war has on the human condition , yes there are scenes of battle but this is a crafty film that is more interested in telling the human story than the war.
There is a braveness that this film has about it not just in the soldiers but with all the war films I was expecting a battle each time that they turned a corner and of course so were they but this is such a different film , also based on a true story.
They are a small group of men patrolling the hills of Afghanistan and making sure the Taliban are kept at bay from the small town they are helping the Afgan army keeping it safe for the people that reside there.
Those looking for a battle movie like "Saving Private Ryan" might want to look elsewhere as this is not that type of film at all, yes a war film but with something more than just that.
They lose one of the men in one fight and this has a major affect on the entire team and their moral.
Now if you like a good story and some great acting none of this major bravado that many war films suffer from and are one of the reasons I am not really fond of war films I can count on one hand how many war films I actually can say that I liked.

The Patrol is one of men just doing their jobs and not forgetting why they are there but they after all are only human and not machines that are trigger happy and wanting to kill everything that moves.
