Little Shop of Movies Review: The Maze Runner(Available December 16 , 2014)

 Story Synopsis:

Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape.

This has a very "Lord of the Flies" feel to it and never does it get tiring as there is a great deal of action throughout what is one of the more entertaining films of the year.

Very early on we are introduced to Thomas and he is ordered to write his name on the wall amongst the others. There are challenges to being a part of this group as he finds out when not doing as instructed there are consequences for that.

This group of young men get along for the most part , but are unapologetic for most of what happens.

This is a well told story and though there was a scene where they keep one of the young men away from the grievers I thought if the branches were that strong why not climb to the top of the maze and try that way to get out?

There is some good suspense and action abound with the grievers that they come across in the maze.

Looking like giant spiders and sounding like every other creature that has crawled onto the big screen in the last ten years. Although geared towards the teens this is something an adult like myself can enjoy.

Near the end a young woman ends up joining them in their quest to get out of the glades as they call them. If you are looking for some action and a standard action film try this I think you may like it, I did.

Thank you for reading this

Sincerely

Anthony Nadeau
