Epic Pictures Movie Review: Tales of Halloween(In Theaters October 16)

Being sent movies before their street date is always a treat, but when that film is easily one of the best films of the year is even a bigger treat. This also is one of the best horror anthologies in many years.

Story Synopsis:

Ten stories are woven together by their shared theme of Halloween night in an American suburb, where ghouls, imps, aliens and axe murderers appear for one night only to terrorize unsuspecting residents.

Seeing as they are all told from the same area really makes for some interesting work and they do work together to tell their stories , which are all told with most having a very climatic ending ,also some old fashion fun in the story telling as well.

My favorite story had to be that of "Ding Dong" where Pollyanna McIntosh(above-Woman) plays a woman who is actually also a witch , who loves young children. She is sweet, sexy and deadly all in one role. She really has a lot of talent as an actress and scared so many with her performance in Woman ,which tells the story of a young woman that is found by a hunter and brought back to his home to be tortured by his entire family. But as they say payback is a bitch!

The cast does a great job in all their roles , loved the stories and the direction, some as above in The Night Billy Raised Hell, really leaves it all up to the viewers mind as to what is happening, but then the ending--oh so clever.

There are demons, witches and even a UFO(yes) with a visitor who has some tricks of his own.

Let's just say the face above is actually scared of what the little guy is able to pull off and in turn runs from his attacker--you have to watch to enjoy this one as well.

This was one of those films I never wanted to end because each story was so vastly different from the previous one , I love short stories I wrote a few when I was younger. I can appreciate the form of telling a short story and then to capture it on film must be golden when brought to life like this.

Another one I really liked was The Ransom of Rusty Rex, this was a kidnapping gone wrong --but not for the reasons you are thinking.

Just look at his face(above)not a happy guy is he?

I cannot recommend this film enough, will be adding it to my already massive collection of movies and enjoy watching it for years to come.

Thank you for reading this

Sincerely

Anthony Nadeau
