Friday Night Music Videos--New Music Released March 1, 2019-Vicious 5150, Darkwater, Climate Of Fear, Tim Bowness & others

I had done these videos on Friday's a few years ago -the last one I did was in 2016.

I had started a YouTube channel to do these releases, but I had some good feedback and will be doing it this way instead. There also seemed to be some confusion with the lead in for the show as well.

There are 20 New Releases today.

Please note these are just from the labels & PR companies that send me music, this is not an overall music release for the day.

All music is released today unless otherwise noted.

First off I am starting and ending the show with an artist from Port Coquitlam BC, Canada.

Drastus

La Croix de Sang

Label-NoEvDia

NoEvDia is proud to present La Croix de Sang, the second album of Drastus, which has been a decade in the making. It builds on everything this band has been well known for in the underground. The coldest violence, built on intricate drumming, echoes the never-ending depths of nightmarish atmospheres: seldom are we facing such confident radicalism…

Darkwater

Human

Ulterium Records

Against PR

The Swedish melodic progressive metal band DARKWATER will release their new album "Human" on March 1st via Ulterium Records. The album will be available on CD, 2LP and digital.

"Human" won't leave fans of melodic metal or progressive metal disappointed. The songs are heavier, more melodic and atmospheric than before and the band worked really hard on tweaking the ten songs and over 76 minutes of playing time into perfection. Jacob Hansen (Evergrey, Volbeat, Amaranthe) was chosen to mix and master the album and he did a fantastic job which resulted in the best sounding Darkwater album to date.

The lyrics of the album welcomes you into a world of you and me, how we affect the world around us and the struggles we deal with as humans.

Don't miss out on "Human", a perfect album for fans of melodic progressive metal and bands like Circus Maximus, Seventh Wonder, and Evergrey!

Damon - a songwriting, singing, southpaw six-stringer - recently appeared on stage as a guest guitarist/vocalist with America on their timeless hit, "Horse With No Name." Furthermore, renowned drummer, Tris Imboden (Chicago, CS&N), is one of many notable guest artists on Damon's CD - proving that this young artist's respect for his influencers is clearly reciprocated. "There's unity amongst players within multiple genres on this record," Damon understates!

"Music has power. It is an act of creation. It is a language. Music is a conduit to something bigger than ourselves; something far beyond us. It is a conduit, and yet is simply how we tell our stories."

Press Quotes

"Damon Mitchell offers a no-frills and very honest insight on this record as to who he is both musically and personally. A joy to listen to and a pleasure to work with." - Tris Imboden (Kenny Loggins, Chicago, Richard Marx)

Accolades

In July of 2018, Damon performed as a guest artist with the legendary band America for their encore of "A Horse With No Name."

While She Sleeps

So What?

Sleep Brothers/Spinefarm Records/Search and Destroy

From the label:

Some bands play it safe when it comes to taking their next steps. But then, While She Sleeps have never been “some band”. The Sheffield quintet has made a career out of confounding expectations, be it through their dizzying blend of crushing metal, guttural hardcore and arena-worthy hooks, or the way they’ve carried themselves over an explosive, 13-year career. Their last album, 2017’s ‘You Are We,’ was a testament to the power of self-belief and determination; crowdfunded and released on the band’s own Sleeps Brothers label, it earned them award nominations from the likes of Metal Hammer and a Best Album win at the Heavy Music Awards, as well as landing them in the top ten of the UK album charts. Now, they look to build on that success with the release of fourth studio album: ‘SO WHAT?

The Next band is:

From Imperative PR:

ORO – DJUPETS KALL

LABEL: ENDLESS WINTER

Line-up:

Petter Nilsson - guitars & vocals

Sebastian Andersson - guitars

Sebastian Conde - bass

John Stöök - drums

From the band's bio:

ORO means anxiety and unrest and those feelings run through this album like a black stream, but between the towering riffs of agonized doom and overwhelming sludge, there are passages of sublime beauty. Within songs like the mountainous ‘Järtecken’ whole worlds of complex emotion open up before you, the myriad shades of joy and despair laid out like sunlight through stained glass on the stone-flagged floor of a silent chapel. There will be hundreds of albums released in 2019, but very few of them will possess the power, the emotional intensity, the ability to enthrall and consume the listener of Djupets Kall. Albums like this are why heavy music continues to thrill and touch the hearts of those who need more than just bland entertainment. So be ready for March 1st, when Endless Winter will unveil the majesty of Djupets Kall because ORO will take you to dark places, unravel your nerves and expose your pain - and nothing could be more life-affirming and rewarding.

FOUL BODY AUTOPSY – THE UNQUIET DEAD

LABEL: INDEPENDENT RELEASE

RELEASE DATE: 06/03/19

The three powerful songs that make up this new EP retain the crisp, biting riffs that characterized This Machine Kills Zombies but they bring additional layers of atmosphere to the mix. There is a depth and maturity to the compositions that surpasses anything that Foul Body Autopsy have released before. Despite the relative brevity of The Unquiet Dead, you feel every step of the protagonist’s lonely journey through the desolation, with the haunting lead work that augments a track like ‘Searching For Sanctuary’ adding unexpected emotion to this collection of remarkable songs. Produced, mixed and mastered by Russ Russell (Amorphis, Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Megadeth etc) The Unquiet Dead also has the fabulous sound quality that the songs deserve.

Next Up

Twin Temple

Bring You Their Signature Sound...Satanic Doo-Wop

Rise Above Records

Originally released independently by the band and limited to a suitably malevolent 666 vinyl copies, Twin Temple’s debut is so beautifully conceived and executed that it sounds like a long, lost classic from the ‘60s, unearthed in some dusty studio vault. With Alexandra’s soulful but siren-like voice and partner Zachary James’ dazzling, authentic arrangements, songs like The Devil (Didn’t Make Me Do It) and I’m Wicked pledge their allegiance to Satan in the most bizarrely accessible and infectious of ways. Bolstered by plenty of analog hiss and devotion to old school recording techniques, it’s an album that brings the band’s unique and enlightened take on Satanism to vivid, vital life.

“Something we’re sick of is all the overproduced records,” says Alexandra. “It just takes the soul out of music. With this record, we wanted to get rid of all of that. We looked at how all our heroes made records in the ‘50s and ‘60s. They weren’t even mixing in stereo back then, so that’s why we made the record in mono. We did everything, including the vocals, live to tape. We went into the studio, played the songs two or three times and chose the best takes. The whole record was done in a day and a half. It has a rawness to it because we wanted to capture the human element, instead of overproducing everything. Perfect is boring.”

With a Satanic philosophy that prizes individualism, respect, equality and defiance, Twin Temple are intuitively in tune with rock’n’roll’s integral outcast culture, even if the fiendishly seditious sound of Alexandra singing enticingly about Sex Magick may make more than few music critics and unsuspecting punters spit their coffee across the room. Ultimately, this transgressive act of musical mischief is as subversive as it gets in this age of societal division, insidious ignorance and empty hostility.

SISTERS OF SUFFOCATION

Humans Are Broken

Napalm Records

Eindhoven based death metal squad Sisters Of Suffocation are here to bring us the best of both worlds: the raw and primal force of old school DM clashes with the sophisticated technicality and epic-melodic infusions of modern times. The underground perked up its ears when the (back then) all-female newcomers unleashed debut EP Brutal Queen (2016) and full-length Anthology of Curiosities (2017), but now the four sisters and one brother are aiming for bloodshed on a much bigger scale: Humans are Broken starts with Tombs of the Mutilated-drenched blastbeats that quickly make way for typically Dutch, epic jawbreaker ‘Wolves‘ in the finest Asphyx / Hail Of Bullets tradition. ‘War in my Head‘ shines with progressive twists entwined with sick grooves and poisonous growls. Rare specks of clean vocals and spoken word interludes give various tracks a rather exotic and menacing flair, and whilst proudly wearing their influences on their sleeves, the Sisters Of Suffocation have managed to create a unique and stunning beast of an album: You`ll keep spinning this imaginative and infectious multi-headed hydra forever and ever and ever…

Drawn Into Descent

The Endless Endeavour

Avantgarde Music

LINEUP:

G. - Bass

V. - Drums

J. - Guitars

B. - Vocals, Guitars

Drawn Into Descent craft five songs for over forty-five minutes of play and swing naturally from evil blast-beats and desperate shrieks (“Dystopia”) to more post-, almost gothic rock influences (“Death…”). Now resembling Judas Iscariot, now flirting with Klimt 1918, the final result is that The Endless Endeavour is carved in a unique and personal sound. We reached out to the band for a statement: “The four of us have shared some earlier projects and have known each other for a long time. We make our music for ourselves, we all have a different musical background and the result is doom/post-rock infused atmospheric black metal. We do not make music for a higher purpose or to deliver one specific message, idea or feeling. Every listener has his own interpretation of our music, and that's exactly what we're aiming for.”

Dealing with the bleak, joyless emotions of life, Drawn Into Descent sophomore album will be a perfect companion during the last winter days, when cold has not let go yet, but days start to grow longer again. An apparently conflicting duality, just like the mellow guitars of blackgaze opposed to the rage of atmospheric black metal.

Born out of the emerging metal scene of Calgary, AB, RED CAIN is a modern melodic metal project with European roots. With intricate songwriting, a heavy yet melodic feel reminiscent of progressive acts, and eerie ambient elements, RED CAIN champion a fluid, dynamic, and unique musical style centered around telling dark, conceptual Faustian sagas and constructing those into an unforgettable live experience. Listeners might well pick out elements reminiscent of such luminary acts as Kamelot, Symphony X, Tesseract, Draconian, Marilyn Manson, whipped into a venomous new shape.

RED CAIN's debut full length "Kindred: Act I" was produced by Sascha Laskow (Every Hour Kills, ex-Divinity) with the band at Perfect Filth Studios and features guests Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus), Daniel Louden (Benevolent Like Quietus) and guitarist Tyler Corbett. The album's artwork was done by Timur Khabirov with cover design by Igor Zayarny.

   Crimewave

     TAG Publicity

Cinematic Metal/Industrial band TERRORBYTE has released the official music video for their single, "Worldstar," off of their upcoming full-length album, CRIMEWAVE.

"'WORLDSTAR' -- the first single off our new upcoming full-length CRIMEWAVE is meant to be a big middle finger to all the people and circumstances in our lives who didn't believe in us and tried to tear us down. 'Worldstar' is an Emmure-meets-Linkin Park-meets-Slipknot nu-metal anthem for all the underdogs up against the odds or anyone out there who is fighting to survive or make their dream come true." - TERRORBYTE

Tim Bowness

Flowers At The Scene

Inside Out Music

Tim comments of the new album: “'Lost In The Ghost Light felt like a conclusion to a particular way of writing and working. In the wake of that, Flowers At The Scene very much feels like a new beginning.

It was an exciting project to put together and it was great working closely with long-term creative partners, Brian Hulse and Steven Wilson plus a talented cast of new collaborators. Steven was initially brought in to mix the album, but very quickly was helping develop production ideas alongside Brian and I. Listening to pieces such as Not Married Anymore, Borderline and The War On Me, we both felt that the project had more than a hint of the spirit of no-man and it became obvious that this was a no-man co-production rather than a Bowness/Wilson one.

Elsewhere, the likes of Jim Matheos, Colin Edwin, Dylan Howe, and Tom Atherton delivered some incredible performances and it was a delight to get Peter Hammill, Kevin Godley, Andy Partridge and David Longdon involved.

Ashley Wilson

Paint The Sky

Working Brilliantly

San Francisco-based songbird Ashley Wilson’s new album Paint the Sky is a thoughtfully produced artisanal blend of jazz-pop and country folk. It’s a nimble collection of atmospheric, jazz-soaked musings that recalls Norah Jones’ sophisticated debut.

Paint the Sky is aptly titled, evoking the possibility of crafting an expansive life for oneself without rules or pretenses. This is exactly what Ashley did in 2014 when she decided to leave a successful tech marketing career to sing again. An avid performer at a young age, Ashley stopped when she went to college and by the time she reached her late 20’s, had sidelined her artistic ambitions in favor of working in tech marketing for Silicon Valley startups. “I would always hear this little voice inside of me telling me to sing,” Ashley reflects. “It eventually got too big to ignore.” She gathered the courage to start performing again and began gigging regularly with a jazz trio at clubs in San Francisco

  Ungraven

                          Language of Longing

              Black Bow Records

 Dewar PR

Jon Davis of legendary doom band CONAN will unveil the debut EP from his solo project UNGRAVEN on March 1, 2019. The album will be available on digital and CD formats.

Jon Commented: "I am a huge fan of Fudge Tunnel, Ministry, Godflesh, Sepultura, and Nailbomb. I fell in love with ‘For All Those Who Died’ by Bathory on Headbangers Ball and also the ‘Speed Kills’ comp. Since then I have referenced these bands in some of Conan’s material. With Ungraven I pay homage to the industrial sounds emanating from Birmingham in the 90s with a few other influences that I’ve been obsessing over for a while. It’s super heavy but slightly different from what I have done so far.”

About Ungraven:

Ungraven bolt foul and orc-ish Norwegian black metal spite to the majestic rusted frame of nineties Midlands post-hardcore industrial brutality: a wheezing iron hulk of aggro-infused pessimism that aims to blast your ungrateful head clean off your shoulders.

                                         Heretical Sect

                                Heretical Sect

Redefining Darkness Records

Caligari Records | Vendetta Records

HERETICAL SECT is a reclusive collective fixated on the physical and spiritual genocides of the Southwest.

The Southwest; represented through a nostalgic lens of cowboy culture, rarely exposes the most brutal atrocities of American history. Churches chained shut and lit on fire with the congregation inside, severed limbs piled in the streets, and disease and slavery are burned into the memory of the landscape. These horrors are sonically juxtaposed against the natural beauty of the high desert.  Expansive skies, deep canyons, painted red rocks, all witnesses to untold butchery and grief.

HERETICAL SECT features members of other prominent Santa Fe (NM) bands, yet members remain hooded and anonymous. Although the band rarely appears live, it is a primary conceptual entity for its members. May all life learn to die.

One last one before we close out the show.
