My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To-Movie Review-Available Now(Dark Sky Films)

My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To is definitely a different sort of family film without it being a film for families per se what this is the story of three siblings who live together Dwight, Jessie, and their younger brother Thomas. Thomas has a mysterious illness that we are not made aware of until further on in the movie. Dwight and Jessie are providing Thomas with human blood I won't go into the nitty-gritty details about it but about a half-hour into the movie Dwight is having second thoughts about doing this. He is not wanting to do this anymore, he is in fact falling for the local prostitute and has asked her to move away unbeknownst to Jessie and Thomas. He does not disclose this information with them because Dwight is taking has taken a back seat to this bloodletting of sorts, Jessie takes it upon herself to go get a victim upon doing so it is Dwight's love interest and it's really quite a captivating movie.

This won't be for everybody, it's not a bloodletting movie we're not talking a lot of gore and the topic is handled very tactfully just because there's blood does not mean we see a lot of it, it's more left to the imagination.

It's more about the story of the siblings and what they're willing to do for their baby brother because he actually gets sick if he doesn't get this, he's kind of cursed with the sickness in a way and kind of hints on the fact that he's a vampire because there's a scene where he tries to go out in the daylight and his arm gets burnt, so there is a reference to that but he's not biting people on the neck sort of thing like a typical vampire movie. Very well done, really kind of different approach to this sort of film and I just liked it. I thought it was one of the better films of the year quite honestly, it's quite enjoyable it's available now from Dark Sky Films now, check it out if you like horror movies or thrillers. It played at the Tribeca Film Festival last year 2020, also available to rent on Amazon.
