Night drive is one of those smaller films that will kind of go under the radar with all the bigger movies that are coming out these days but it's definitely one that's worth viewing.
What starts out we were following Russell played by AJ Bowen he's a driver kind of like a Uber driver of a company and we see some little vignettes of different people that come into his vehicle through the afternoon/evening, he picks up a young woman by the name of Charlotte played by Sophie Dalah and right away the chemistry between the two actors and the characters in which they're playing them begins a little playfulness. They really seem to be getting along fine and then she asks him to stop in another location then what they'd originally agreed upon, he tells her that she has to enter it into the app. She doesn't want to do that so she slips him a hundred dollar bill then he unsure of what he's getting himself into, he says that he has a Christmas party to go to so she slips him another one and she says so your plans were to cancel and you said you took the words right out of my mouth.
Upon there we venture into a uncharted territory that I didn't see any of it coming and it kind of throws you for a loop because everything that happens, happens without reason and some things go really unexplained but then by the third act everything comes into fruition and they keep the third act very well hidden. I was pleasantly surprised by this film it kind of made my jaw drop at the very end that I think will have a lot of people happy with how it ended I know I was.
It was a nice way to wrap up such a live little film that predominantly only takes place in a car oddly enough but you'd have to see it because the banter back and forth between the two lead characters and actors is quite exceptional and I think this film needs to be celebrated a bit more than it might it might initially. The two lead actors are are great together they're they're great as their characters and and some of the some of the shots of AJ Bowen remind me very much of that of a young John Larroquette his facial features and his hair.
This film definitely works if you have a chance it comes out tomorrow on DVD released by Dark Sky Films.
