Delain: Dark Waters- Music Review-- Available Now! (Napalm Records)

While it is only February this is going to be a great year for music.
Also, for those that say that there is no good music anymore, need to open their ears and have a look around. Delain is no stranger to those who have been listening to their music for many years. Delain once again does not disappoint. This is, after all their 7th studio album.
DELAIN is:
Martijn Westerholt - Keys
Diana Leah - Vocals
Ronald Landa - Guitars
Ludovico Cioffi - Bass
Sander Zoer - Drums

From the press notes:
"The pristine record marks a game-changing chapter in the band's history and presents the brainchild of keyboardist, founder, and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt with a new lineup. Rejoining the fold and bolstering DELAIN’s continuity is original guitarist Ronald Landa and original drummer Sander Zoer, while new members - terrific vocalist Diana Leah and bassist Ludovico Cioffi - continue to evolve their sound."

Easily one of my favorite songs of the year will be
  "Queen of Shadow"
See the music video below and listen for yourself!

This is such an epic-sounding album from start to finish, with the build-up of each of the songs to the final note is a treat for the ears.
This is my second favorite song from the album.

To tell you that there is not a bad song on the album is an understatement, this is such a crystal-clear album, so rich in the vocals and every note of the guitars, bass, keys, and drums --everything is so tight here!
They have not been to Vancouver, BC since 2019 when they played
The Venue.
Hopefully, now that they have new music out, they will be back to share their new members and music with us!

Lastly, I leave you with two versions of
The Quest & The Curse
Now if you buy the Digi-book, the second cd is mostly instrumental however there is a piano version of this one--it is so beautiful!
