Showcasing an all-star lineup to voice the iconic pop culture characters, THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE stars Chris Pratt (Jurassic World franchise), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Lego Movie), Anya Taylor-Joy (Last Night in Soho, The Queen’s Gambit), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Seth Rogen (Neighbors, An American Pickle), Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda franchise) and Fred Armisen (“Wednesday,” Portlandia).

For those of us who have played the game(s), or even for those that haven't, this is easily one of the most enjoyable movies of the year! Fun for any age in the house, I am 56 and I really enjoyed it!

Everything starts out well, for the most part, Mario(Chris Pratt) & Luigi(Charlie Day) have their own plumbing company, no surprise there. They get their first job after their ad is played on TV, anything that could go wrong does.

Upon the mess, they are shocked to learn that there is a massive leak in Brooklyn and they attempt to fix it, upon doing so they are sucked into a warp pipe and placed in alternate worlds.

Luigi has been warped to Bowser's(Jack Black) world and Mario has been warped to the mushroom world where Princess Peach lives, what a trip this film is, so magical and so full of fun and love for the games.

I often felt as if I was watching a friend play the game, as some of the battle scenes, like when he is battling Donkey Kong(Seth Rogan), had such a game feel to them! So creative and has such great animation as well!

Unlike the game, Princess Peach(Anya Taylor-Joy) is very capable of handling herself and is a total badass! The funniest and most heroic character has to be Toad! (Keegan-Michael Key) really gets himself ready for the race in the film, probably the biggest laugh for me.

The casting is great and I am sure this will be in a lot of categories next year for the awards season.
