Creepshow Season 4-Episode 401-“Twenty Minutes with Cassandra / Smile”

Season 4 starts off with a bang and one of my favorite shorts of the year,

                                                         "Twenty Minutes With Cassandra".

Writers: Jamie Flanagan, Mike Scannell      Directors: Greg Nicotero, John Harrison

Lorna(Samantha Sloyan-left) just gets home and orders herself a pizza, pours a glass of wine, puts on some music, and sits on the couch. A knock comes on the door after a few more knocks come pounding.

Frantic knocks with some crying behind the door, someone is crying for help and for her to let her in. Not sure who this person is Lorna, asks if she knows the woman, who begs her to let her in. Cassandra(Ruth Codd-right)says that someone is after her, hysterical and clearly crying as her makeup is running down her face.

This turns out to be more than just Cassandra running away from something, but being a part of Lorna's world for a few minutes, 20 to be exact.

This ended up being so much more than I had anticipated, I really had a great time watching this, really goes off on a different path and exactly what one would expect from this kind of anthology show.

The second part of the show is   "Smile"

From the opening show and throughout this short I quickly saw the local theater, the Maple Ridge ACT Theater a night shoot on 224th street, and the local Memorial Peace Park was dressed up as a cemetary.

This story is of a photographer who is receiving an award for a photo he took and is now haunting him and his family, for reasons that are not yet certain as of the first ten minutes.

This goes down some pretty familiar territory with a lot of scenes that have been done before, however, the overall tension does build up well, and we really get invested in the characters for what is the shorter of the two segments.
