NASHVILLE, TN - (September 30, 2023) - The band, Exile, celebrates the 45th anniversary of their iconic hit, “Kiss You All Over,” which was released on September 30, 1978, written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn. The American Country Rock Band and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Members are currently enjoying their 60th year together as a band while looking back at the mammoth 1978 single which has seen overwhelming success over the last 45 years. It reached #1 in 1978, where it remained for four weeks, and continued to chart for an additional 23 weeks. It was the #5 song for 1978 and landed at #9 on Billboard Magazine’s 50 Sexiest Songs.. The track also reached number one in at least three other nations.
“Kiss You All Over” has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, amassed over 50 million Spotify streams and was included in a multitude of film and television projects, including the soundtracks of The Big Ugly, starring Vinnie Jones, Ron Perlman and Malcolm McDowell and Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler. The song was also included in many other productions, including Man On The Moon, Zookeeper, Wild Hogs, Employee Of The Month, Hello Ladies and American Swing. In addition, it was a part of several miniseries, such as Mindhunter (Netflix), Pose (FX), Red Oaks (Amazon) and Imposters (Bravo).

“In the 1980s, Exile followed their Billboard No. 1 Hot 100 hit “Kiss You All Over” by sending 10 songs to the pinnacle of the Hot Country Songs chart, in addition to writing hit songs for country groups including Alabama. Their new album proves their song-crafting prowess and full-throttle performance style haven’t faded in the three decades that have elapsed since their previous album's release of new music. The group’s harmonies still weave tightly around a lyric, and their songwriting remains polished yet gripping across these 16 tracks, from the rockabilly churn of "Sugar Free" to the gospel fusion of "Down in Cold Water" with The Isaacs. 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of Exile, which formed in Richmond, Kentucky. Since its 1963 beginning, the band has had number-one hits on both the pop and country charts, achieving ten number-one hits on the country chart.
The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame members continue to create new music, having just released their album, A Million Miles Later in August 2023. About Exile
Exile formed in 1963, looking to play small clubs in Richmond, Kentucky, but managed to top both the pop and country charts during their nearly 60-year-long career. Their most successful hit, “Kiss You All Over” spent four weeks at the top of Billboard’s pop chart in 1978. In the early 1980s Exile started to focus on country music.
