LOS ANGELES, CA - Ronin Flix is proud to be commemorating the ultimate ‘scary’ movie with a new 2-disc Blu-ray this All Hallows’ Eve. Made by then young horror fan and prolific genre screenwriter/director/producer Rolfe Kanefsky in 1990, There’s Nothing Out There is “the cult classic that satirized the horror genre long before Wes Craven ever convinced you he did it first." (Cinema Crazed).
Featuring Craig Peck as the penultimate horror geek everyone loves to make fun of, and Wendy Bednarz, Mark Collver, and Bonnie Bowers as his college mates, There’s Nothing Out There quickly moves into familiar territory when the cast heads out of town for some Spring Break shenanigans. Described as a “horror fan’s wet dream”, Kanefsky’s meta-horror classic is “funny, intelligent, and always, always, always, rewatchable... a blast of goop and boobs from the beginning to its loopy finale” (Reel Reviews).

“Rolfe Kanefsky certainly knows how to send up ‘Friday The 13th’ -type movies with wit, style and suspense.” - L.A. Times

"A blast, an effective mix of horror and comedy done right."                                  - rockshockpop.com

“If nothing else, [There’s Nothing Out There] should be rightfully regarded as the original ‘cabin in the woods’ take-off.” - oh-the-horror.com

Featuring a limited edition slipcover and a 16” x 20” retro mini-poster featuring the original poster art (initial run only), the new commemorative edition of There’s Nothing Out There comes fully loaded with 2 discs. Disc one features a NEW 2K restoration of the film done by Ronin Flix in 2023, NEW English stereo DTS-HD master audio (feature only), two (2) NEW audio commentary tracks, NEW opening sequence storyboard featurette, and a slew of archival bonus materials, while disc two is an extra special director’s bonus disc featuring over 6 hours of Rolfe’s favorite ‘home movies’ – many of them never-been-released – a collection of early films and shorts that he wrote, directed, and produced back in the 1980s, along with newly recorded director’s introductions, audio commentary tracks featuring the director alongside his frequent collaborator, actor, and producer Ed Erenberg, on select titles, and more.

“I am delighted to share my childhood with you in these rare early shorts and features I made from the age of 13 (when I got my first video camera) up through college and beyond. Convincing some of my crazy friends to join me, I was able to learn my craft in a series of adventures and misadventures throughout these home movies that eventually resulted in a strange career as an independent filmmaker. Don't judge me too harshly. I was just trying to have some fun and when watching, I hope you do too." - Rolfe Kanefsky

LOS ANGELES, CA - Ronin Flix is thrilled to be shining a spotlight on the acclaimed indie horror film, THE LOST, this Halloween. Based on the infamous novel by Jack Ketchum and adapted for the screen by writer/director/producer Chris Sivertson with credits that include master of horror producer Lucky McKee and then newcomer Marc Senter in a powerhouse performance as teenage serial killer Ray Pye, THE LOST is “a modern-day Last House on the Left” (Bloody Disgusting) that comes with a lot of street cred.
After premiering at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2006, the film enjoyed a global festival presence that earned Senter multiple best actor nods including wins at both the Screamfest and Fantaspoa film festivals and a nomination for a Fangoria Chainsaw Award as well as a limited theatrical release here in the US.

THE LOST is a triumph of independent cinema – a bold novel turned equally bold film that will haunt you for a very long time.” - Dread Central

“Enhanced by Senter’s electrifying performance, the brash and bluntly amoral Ray is an enormously vivid movie monster.” - Los Angeles Times

“Far more unsettlingly savage than many horror thrillers…
undeniably fascinating and deadly serious from start to finish” - Variety

Also starring Robin Sydney as Katherine Wallace, the mysterious new girl in town, Shay Astar and Alex Frost as Ray’s reluctant partners in crime, Michael Bowen and Ed Lauter as the cops out to get him, and Jack Ketchum in one of his signature cameo’s, Chris Sivertson’s freshman film debut is “gritty, more true to life than most would like to admit and ultimately fearless” (Ain’t it Cool News).

“Making THE LOST was a wild, foundational experience - a true collaboration made possible by the blood, sweat and tears of friends and family. Getting the opportunity to restore the movie from the original 35mm elements with the dedicated team at Ronin Flix has been a dream. The late great Jack Ketchum's unhinged morality play has never looked so vivid.” - Chris Sivertson

Ronin Flix is proud to be honoring THE LOST with a new BD-50 release worthy of a collector’s shelf. Complete with a custom slipcover (initial run only), a NEW 2K remaster produced from a 4K scan of the original camera negative completed by Ronin Flix, NEW English Lossless 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, NEW interviews with stars Marc Senter, Robin Sydney, and Shay Astar, and a NEW audio commentary featuring Chris Sivertson along with veteran horror filmmaker and producer Lucky McKee, and all of the historical bonus features including an audio commentary with author Jack Ketchum, this Blu-ray is a true must-own for both modern horror fans and classic genre aficionados.
