Paramount+ Original Series LANDMAN Announces Casting For Taylor Sheridan's New Series

Victoria-born Kayla Wallace (When Calls The Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia) join Paramount+’s highly anticipated original drama series LANDMAN as series regulars.
 

They join series lead and Oscar® winner Billy Bob Thornton and previously announced series regulars Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, and Jacob Lofland.

Kayla Wallace will play ‘Rebecca Savage’, an extremely capable and intimidating liability attorney sent to West Texas to clean up a mess. 

James Jordan will play ‘Dale Bradley’, a petroleum engineer and a blue-collar bear of a man who manages and works with roughnecks in the oil fields. He’s also Tommy Norris’ (Thornton) roommate. 

Mark Collie will play ‘Sheriff Joeberg’, a West Texas sheriff. 

Paulina Chávez will play ‘Ariana’, a young mother whose family has suffered a misfortune

 LANDMAN is co-created by Oscar® nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

 Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, LANDMAN is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast “Boomtown,” the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.

 LANDMAN is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.

The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly also executive produce. Peter Feldman serves as co-executive producer.

LANDMAN is the latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1923, 1883, SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, TULSA KING and LAWMEN: BASS REEVES.

KAYLA WALLACE was a series regular on When Calls The Heart, a lead on the pilot Breckman Rodeo, and recurred on The Magicians. Other select works include guest stars in The Good Doctor and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist as well as Undercover Cheerleader and Feeling Butterflies. She will next be seen in the indie comedy Wingman, opposite Jamie Kennedy and Harland Williams. Wallace is from Victoria, British Columbia, and attended The Canadian College of Performing Arts

JAMES JORDAN began his many collaborations with Taylor Sheridan in 2017, when he was cast opposite Jeremy Renner in Wind River. Sheridan then cast Jordan in recurring roles in Yellowstone, 1883 and MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN and as a series regular in the spy thriller SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS. Sheridan also cast Jordan opposite Angelina Jolie in the thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead. Other memorable recurring television roles include Veronica Mars and True Blood, and pivotal film roles in Seraphim Falls, Home, The Endless, Seberg and Destroyer, opposite Nicole Kidman.

MARK COLLIE is a multi-talented artist who is an actor, singer, songwriter, and music producer. He has won multiple BMI and ASCAP awards for his songwriting and is a renowned country music recording artist. Collie has appeared in various films, including The Punisher, where he played the character of Harry Heck starring Thomas Jane and John Travolta. He also played the role of Frankie Grey in season 4 of Nashville and portrayed Johnny Cash in the critically acclaimed short film I Still Miss Someone. Some of the biggest names in country music, such as Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, and George Jones, have recorded Collie’s songs. Collie was a performer and the co-executive producer for the film soundtrack of Jonathan Hensleigh’s The Ice Road, which starred Liam Neeson.

PAULINA CHÁVEZ is set to star in the upcoming untitled reimagining of Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, opposite Eva Longoria and Jesse Garcia, and most recently co-starred in the feature film The Long Game, which premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival. Chávez is well known for starring as the titular role of ‘Ashley Garcia’ in the original series The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia and Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love. She also recently starred in the fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga as series regular ‘Flora’.
