I grew up watching cartoon series on TV and there were a few, I had also read the majority of the Spider-Man comics. I was collecting them, even when one of the most famous characters in comic book history would appear in issue #300 of The Amazing Spider-Man, that, of course, is Venom.
Spider-Man has always been my favorite superhero, I could relate to Peter Parker being a nerd in high school.
After seeing Darkman(1990) was based on a short story that Sam Raimi had written in homage to the Universal Horror films of the 1930s and the way he was known for the way he creatively used the camera in his previous films, I was even more excited to see his Spider-Man.
I have the Sam Raimi trilogy of films on DVD--Special 2-disc editions.
