VANCOUVER, BC— Sparkly Frog Clan Productions and Brightlight Pictures are pleased to announce the return of the riveting reality business competition Bears’ Lair to APTN on June 4, 2024 at 9 p.m. and starting June 5, 2024 on APTN lumi with French episodes to begin airing June 10, 2024 at 9:30 p.m. The series made waves in season one by feeding the entrepreneurial spirit of hopeful Indigenous businesses across Canada and is back with 18 new 22-minute weekly episodes.
Season two of Bears’ Lair follows 18 entrepreneurs as they face off in a collaborative competition and pitch their best ideas to a panel of Indigenous business experts. With support from the four Bears (core judges), the guest judges, and the coaches, the contestants hone their business concepts and hit the hot seat in hopes of winning the $100,000 grand prize. Bears’ Lair offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to aspiring Indigenous business owners competing for their share of approximately $160,000 in cash prizes. From sustainable beauty products to artisanal preserves, to birth services and solar energy businesses, this reality series showcases it all.Season 2 of Bears’ Lair will feature both new and familiar faces on the judges’ panel. Indigenous business moguls Geena Jackson, Tabatha Bull, and Dave Tuccaro will return as Bears, and the panel will also welcome an exciting new judge: Clint Davis, former President and CEO of Nunasi Corporation and proud Inuk from Nunatsiavut. With support from the Bears, guest judges, and coaches, the contestants will hone their ideas to make them as successful as possible.This season’s contestants are: Germaine and Charles Catchpole (Cowichan First Nation), Chelsee Pettit (Aamjiwnaang First Nation), Anthony Wingham (Métis), Steven Stark (Tsawwassen First Nation), Alexis Santana (Squamish Nation), Tyson Wesley (Kashechewan First Nation), Cease and Senaqwila Wyss (Squamish Nation), Keri Gray (Algonquins of Pikwakanagan), Mike Young (Métis), Corey Janvier (Chipewyan Prairies Dene First Nation), Harlan Kingfisher (Sturgeon Lake First Nation), Tracy and Brayden Sloan (Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation), Zachary McCue (Curve Lake First Nation), Levi Wild (Passpasschase Cree Nation), Maddie Amyotte (Cree-Métis) and Sheena Bradley (McMurray Métis), Jenna White (Métis), Sophia Good (Snuneymuxw First Nation), Denyse Nadon (Apitipi Anicinapek Nation) and Angie Sarsons (Moose Cree First Nation).
