Michael Peña Joins Paramount+'s New Original Series Landman


In what is going to be a great cast, first, in February it was announced that Demi Moore was joining the cast, then last week, May 3, Andy Garcia was announced as a guest star. Now Michael Peña is joining an already stacked and great cast!

Michael Peña (End of Watch, American Hustle) joins Paramount+’s highly anticipated original drama series LANDMAN as a guest star.

Peña will play Armando Medina, a veteran roughneck tasked with introducing a rookie to the life of an oil rig worker.

The acclaimed actor joins series regulars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Canadian Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia) and Demi Moore (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans). Jon Hamm (Mad Men) has been cast in a recurring guest role; Andy Garcia (the Expendables franchise) is a guest star.

LANDMAN is co-created by Oscar® nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, LANDMAN is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast “Boomtown,” the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.

 LANDMAN is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.

Currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, the series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly also executive produce. Peter Feldman serves as co-executive producer.

 LANDMAN is the latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1923, 1883, SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, TULSA KING and LAWMEN: BASS REEVES.

BIO: MICHAEL PEÑA (End of Watch, American Hustle, The Martian) recently starred in the critically acclaimed film A Million Miles Away in the lead role of Jose Hernandez, the first migrant farmworker to travel to space with NASA. Peña also starred in the final installment of the series Jack Ryan, opposite John Krasinski. He will next be seen in Unstoppable, starring alongside Jharrel Jerome, Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, and Bobby Cannavale for Amazon Studios with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Artists Equity producing.
