Arjen Anthony Lucassen Announces New Apocalyptic Solo Album ‘Songs No One Will Hear’, Due On Sept. 12th, 2025

Let me start by saying that whenever I am sent new music from this man, I am beyond thrilled each time, and now it has been years since we have had any new music from him--solo-wise. Of course, he is known for his supergroup Ayreon, which is a joy to hear or see perform. Below is my review from 2012 of his last solo album, "Lost In The New Real."

What would you do if you knew the world was ending in five months?

Arjen Anthony Lucassen offers the soundtrack to humanity’s final days with the apocalyptic solo album Songs No One Will Hear, due on Sept. 12th, 2025, on InsideOutMusic.

 

Thirteen years after his last solo album, Lost In The New Real, Arjen is back with a new solo release: Songs No One Will Hear. True to his signature style, this album offers an eclectic blend of tracks, moving seamlessly from powerful, epic songs to lighter, more playful ones. At its core, Songs No One Will Hear is bound by a profound concept: what would people do if they only had five months left to live because of an asteroid impact? Expect an emotional rollercoaster, delving into both the light and dark aspects of human nature.”


Guiding the album is narration from Mike Mills (Toehider) along with collaborators like Irene and Floor Jansen, Robert Soeterboek, Marcela Bovio, and Patty Gurdy, adding depth to the album’s diverse sound!
